You wouldn’t neglect physical fitness, so why neglect mental fitness? The truth is, mindset has a massive impact on an athlete’s performance, and it can be enhanced through training — just like lifting weights.

I played on a collegiate softball team that was #1 in the country for six weeks my senior year. I was a four-year starter and team captain. We lost the last regional game to go to the Women’s College World Series.  A heartbreaker. However with time, you get over the loss and remember all the fun you had with your teammates and coaches.  It was really about the relationships and memories created! After graduating, I coached collegiate softball for 12 years, and during that time had the opportunity to coach in the College World Series twice! Redemption! I also learned a thing or two about high-performing teams — they’re not only physically fit, they’re mentally fit too.

When I discovered the power of meditation in my own life years later, I knew I needed to share it. The science behind meditation and mindfulness practices coupled with visualization and breathwork is astounding. I started training my first collegiate softball team in the fall of 2021, and in the Spring of 2023, they went to the Women’s College World Series! I watched as they became more calm and confident over those two seasons. They gained emotional control when things didn’t go their way, and they had an ability to bounce back quicker than in the past.  IT WAS AMAZING. They placed 3rd in the country and are back at it with high goals!   

In 2022 I started training my first collegiate Clay Target Team and they became DIVISION III NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in 2023! They were open-minded to incorporate mindfulness/meditation and yoga into their weekly and daily practice! Being calm and centered to shoot a gun at a really small target helps! In 2024 they achieved DIVISION II RUNNER UP HONORS!

Now, I started to offer Mental Fitness Training for teams in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, metro and surrounding areas. I’ve worked with collegiate softball and trapshooting teams, high school golf teams, softball teams, baseball teams and more! I also do one-on-one sessions with athletes and currently run a youth feeder softball program where I get to sprinkle in all this goodness with youth coaches.

Mental Performance Training Packages

ONE: Mental Game Foundations Package

Start with the essentials. This package introduces your team to the core practices of mental performance: breath awareness, stress management, mindset building, and resilience.

Includes short recorded lessons, foundational practices, and one in-person session with Jodi to set the tone for growth both on and off the field/gym.

TWO: Elite Edge Performance Program

For teams ready to go deeper. This fully customizable program offers multiple sessions focused on the mental edge required to perform at the highest level. Jodi will lead your team through three interactive sessions on elite mindset, leadership, the mental game, teamwork, and more.
